First T3 Plus with HR-Lifter in Spain

With the beginning of this year's sugar beet campaign the first Terra Dos T3 Plus Holmer was placed in Spain. The T3 Plus came with the new HR-lifting unit. The modular lifting unit had been awarded by the Commission of Experts on the Agritechnica 2009 with a silver medal.

The gentle on the soil sugarbeet harvester Terra Dos T3 Plus with HR-lifting unit is running at a customer near the city of Seville. In this region the beet will be harvested at a row spacing of 50 cm. The choice of the model Holmer T3 Plus in combination with HR-lifter was due to the alternating soil conditions in the cultivated areas.  The cultivable acreage ranges from “rock-hard” to pre-wet soil, caused by the use of irrigation systems.

In Spain, approximately 74.000 hectares of sugar beets are grown. The harvest is about 69.3 t/ha with an average sugar content of about 16% (World Sugar Statistics, 2009).
